【A note from Sendagaya】The National Noh Theatre Summer Programs in 2025
We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of Nohgaku (Noh and Kyogen) this summer at our Theatre.
Experience the essence of Nohgaku in June, July, and August 2025 by joining us for the following performances:
June: Noh Performance for Beginners, featuring a pre-talk by Noh actors.
July: National Noh Theatre Showcase, including a Nohgaku workshop (instruments, masks, and costumes) and a pre-performance talk by a Noh actor.
August: Summer Kyogen/Noh Program for adults and children, promising to create lasting and cherished memories of this summer.
■Noh Performance for Beginners: June 24 (Tue) - 28 (Sat)
This performance features a free viewing program for beginners and commentary with demonstrations by Noh actors. You will watch masterpieces of Noh and Kyogen in 2 hours, which is perfect for beginners. Recommended for those interested in Noh and Kyogen but do not know where to start... Tickets are available at reasonable prices (front-stage seat = 3,500 yen, side-stage seat = 3,000 yen, middle-stage seat = 2,500 yen, student tickets [all seats] 1,500 yen).
*Only a few seats are left on weekdays, but tickets are relatively easy to get on the 28 (Sat)!

■National Noh Theatre Showcase: July 23 (Wed) - 26 (Sat), 28 (Mon), 29 (Tue)
The National Noh Theatre Showcase allows you to enjoy masterpieces of Noh and Kyogen in 2 hours. During the pre-performance talk before the performance, the Noh actor will talk about Noh, Kyogen, and the program in an easy-to-understand way so you can enjoy the performance casually. In addition, in the Nohgaku Workshop, you can touch the instruments, masks, and costumes used in Noh. (The content changes depending on the date. Check the performance information below for details!)
This program is also recommended for those who want to know more about Noh after watching it several times, as well as for those who watch Noh for the first time. Do not miss the chance to learn directly from a Noh actor!
The National Noh Theater Showcase also offers reasonable ticket prices (front-stage seat = 3,500 yen, side-stage seat = 3,000 yen [students 2,100 yen], middle-stage seat = 2,500 yen [students 1,800 yen])
Only customers with tickets can participate in the Nohgaku Workshop in the lobby and the pre-performance talk on the stage.

■Summer Programs for Adults and Children

At the beginning of both performances, a Noh actor will explain Noh and Kyogen and the program for the day. With a subtitle channel for children that is easy to understand in simple words and souvenir goods, it is the perfect content for viewing with children. Why not plan a summer vacation memory that parents and children can enjoy together?

*On sale starting at 10 am on June 3 (Tue)
Parent (adult) = 2,500 yen / Child (under 18) = 1,000 yen (All seats; only applies when purchased together.)
*Please reserve at least one ticket for each parent (adult) and child (under 18).
Ticket prices other than parent-child set tickets are (front-stage seat = (Kyogen performance) 5,200 yen / (Noh performance) 5,500 yen, side-stage seat = 3,700 yen (students 2,600 yen), middle-stage seat = 3,300 yen (students 2,300 yen)).
