Yao (A Sinner with References)

King Enma is lamenting the slump in Hell's business. He tries to drag a man from the village of Yao down to Hell, but then the man holds up a letter from the Jizo Bodhisattva.

Hajitomi (The Half-Sized Lattice Shutter)

During a memorial service for flowers offered to Buddha, the spirit of Lady Yugao appears before a monk. It is a story of a fragile, fleeting love affair in the “Yugao” chapter of The Tale of Genji.
