Busshi (The Fake Sculptor)

A swindler who claims to be a Buddhist statue carver tries to sell a statue to a man from the provinces. The swindler poses as the statue, but the man says he is not happy with the gesture shown by the hands…

Aoi no Ue (Lady Aoi)

Lady Aoi, the wife of Hikaru Genji, falls ill due to the deep-seated and hateful jealousy of Lady Rokujō, whose spirit appears before the bed-ridden Lady Aoi. Yokawa no Kohijiri is called in to suppress the spirit. This Noh play, based on a story in the Aoi chapter of The Tale of Genji, portrays a passionate yet sorrowful love.
