Shidō Hōgaku (Stop in Your Tracks)
Taro Kaja borrows a horse that is said to go wild when someone coughs but calms down when a magic spell is spoken. He is furious when his master scolds him and tries to retaliate by having his master ride the horse.
Senju (The Courtesan Senju)
Although Taira no Shigehira was captured at the Battle of Ichinotani and is awaiting death, Minamoto no Yoritomo shows Shigehira great kindness by sending him the female attendant, Senju. The two play musical instruments together and become emotionally connected, but eventually it is time to part. This poignant piece was written by Komparu Zenchiku.
