Kōji (Three Tangerines on a Branch)
Tarokaja has eaten the three kōji, a citrus fruit, he was supposed to keep for his master. As an excuse, the servant starts to narrate the story of Shunkan’s exile. How is this an excuse?
Matsukaze (Pine Wind)
The moon shines brightly over Suma Bay. Two ama divers pull a cart containing casks of seawater to make salt. They are the spirits of Matsukaze and Murasame, who were once loved by Ariwara no Yukihira, a courtier and poet. This play focuses most closely on Matsukaze's nostalgia and enduring love for Yukihira.
