SAKO NO SAMURO (The Hunter and THE Priest)
A hunter, Sako no Samuro, speaks to a monk he has met, intending to mock him. Their dialogue eventually develops into a sort of exchange of Zen riddles.
SUMA GENJI (Genji at Suma Bay)
The play is set in Suma Bay, where Hikaru Genji led an austere life. When Fujiwara no Okinori, the priest of a shrine in Hyūga Province (current Miyazaki Province in Kyushu), visits this historic site, the spirit of Hikaru Genji appears and performs a dance to reminisce on ancient times.
