HONEKAWA (The Mixed-Up Acolyte)

Asked to lend an umbrella, the temple priest instructs his acolyte to say, “The wind tore its bones and skin apart.” Then a man comes to the temple and asks to borrow the temple’s horse. 

NIMON ZAKE (Two Penny Sake)

A couple who enjoys drinking decides to open a sake stall at the riverside market. But with their favorite sake right in front of them, they can’t help themselves. This is a modern Kyogen play, first performed in 1998.

BAKURO (The Horse Dealer)

Enma, King of Hell, is punishing a horse merchant in Hell, but then decides he wants to learn how to ride a horse. Seeing his chance, the merchant takes revenge on Enma, now mounted on the horse.
