OBAGASAKE (The Stingy Aunt’s Sake)

A stingy aunt who runs a sake shop refuses to let her nephew drink any of the sake. The nephew manages to get a drink only after he puts on a demon mask to scare his aunt. His antics with the mask are the highlight of the performance.

UMEGAE (The Plum Branch)

In memory of Fuji, a musician killed in a quarrel over a performance, his wife’s spirit dances poignantly dressed in his attire. This beautiful play features an elegant stage prop inspired by Gagaku drums.
