HOJO NO TANE (The Tall Tale Seed)
After losing a tall tale contest to his uncle, a man asks the elder how he lied so well. The uncle says his secret is the hojo no tane (tall tale seed). Enjoy their fibbing.
NONOMIYA (The Shrine in the Field)
A monk visits the ruins of a shrine at Nonomiya in Sagano (Kyoto) and encounters the spirit of Lady Rokujo no Miyasudokoro. The spirit recounts her memories and performs a dance. Based on The Tale of Genji, this is an elegant portrayal of melancholy set in late autumn.
