SAIHO (Saiho Names His Grandsons)

Three young men visit their grandfather, Saiho, to celebrate their coming-of-age ceremony. He gives each of them an auspicious adult name and soon the scene becomes a lively banquet. Filled with joy, Grandfather Saiho dances.

GENJO (Biwa Lute Genjo)

An old couple perform a musical piece and impress Fujiwara no Moronaga, who is himself a master of the biwa lute. Later, they are revealed to be the spirits of emperor Murakami and his consort, Lady Nashitsubo no Nyogo, who stop Moronaga from going to China. A beautiful play based on the legend of a famous lute.
