NARIHIRA MOCHI (Narihira's Rice Cake)
Narihira with his large entourage stops by a mochi shop to enjoy some rice cakes. But being of noble birth, he carries no money. Enjoy this comical Kyogen depiction of the great poet.
UKON (At the Riding Ground of Ukon)
A party of beautiful women arrive at the Ukon horse ground in Kitano (Kyoto) to view cherry blossoms. A poem by Ariwara no Narihira sparks a lively exchange of verses. Later, the goddess Sakuraba appears, adding sublime majesty to this celebratory Noh.
