NATORI-GAWA (The Name-Stealing River)
A newly ordained monk, who is hopelessly forgetful, has his clerical name written on his sleeve. He falls in a river and the inked characters wash out.
KAGEKIYO (The Warrior Kagekiyo)
Exiled to the province of Hyuga (Miyazaki pref.), the Heike warrior Kagekiyo is now blind. When his daughter Hitomaru visits him, he recounts his feats during the great battle at Yashima. Depicting the pride and loneliness of a defeated warrior and the deep love between a parent and child, this play is steeped in the dearest of human sentiments.
