KUCHIMANE (The Mimic)

A visitor is coming to enjoy some sake and Tarokaja is ordered by the master to follow his example. As told, Taro does so. And very faithfully.

MITSUYAMA (Three Mountain Peaks)

Kashiwade no Kinnari loved Katsurago on Mount Miminashi and Sakurago on Mount Unebi, but in time his affection shifted toward Sakurago. In her sorrow, Katsurago drowned herself in a pond. Years later, the spirits of these two women appear to priest Ryonin Shonin, who is visiting Mitsuyama (the Three Mountains) , and begin to fight. The play is based on the legend of Yamato Sanzan (Nara pref.), which is found in the poem anthology Manyoshu.
