KAWAKAMI (Sight Gained and Lost)
A blind man is given his sight after praying to the Kawakami Jizo bodhisattva, known for its marvelous power. The man, however, must make an agonizing choice. This thought provoking Kyogen delves into the true nature of happiness.
SHOZON (The Fighting Monk Shozon)
Minamoto no Yoshitsune suspects Tosanobo Shozon has come to assassinate him, so he orders his retainer Benkei to take the monk into custody. Shozon denies such intent and reads an oath to Yoshitsune and leaves. Benkei, however, learns Shozon is plotting to kill his general and prepares for the assault at night. Featuring the reading of the oath and the final battle scene, the play is filled with intrigue and action.
