NE ONGYOKU (Horizontal Singing)

The master of the house asks his servant Tarokaja to sing him a song. To do so, Taro says he needs to drink sake and rest his head on his wife’s knee. See how Taro is caught in his lie.

SEMIMARU (Prince Semimaru)

Prince Semimaru is abandoned on Mount Oosaka (Shiga pref.), because of his blindness. His sister, Princess Sakagami, comes to see him, but their reunion is brief, and their parting filled with sorrow. This performance features the “Kae no kata” version, which depicts Semimaru and Sakagami both as shite, the main protagonists of the story.
