The National Theatre presents the performance series, Masterpieces of Traditional Japanese Dance, in our Large Theatre. This series features competitive performances by leading dancers – from our seasoned veterans to our talented, mid-career and upcoming young artists. In this second series, we present Suodori (dance without adornment) that is full of refined elegance and the charms of dance itself; Kabuki dance with its quaint appeal; and chic new works from the Showa period that have become quite popular.
