Speaker: YOKOYAMA Taro, script reviewer and producer for the Noh (Revival) TAKEBUN
The Noh (Revival) TAKEBUN, which will be performed during the National Noh Theatre's Special Feature Program on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29, tells the story of the loyal retainer Takebun and his desperate pursuit of the kidnapped Lady-consort Ichinomiya. This captivating play had not been performed since the mid-Edo period until its revival and premiere at the National Noh Theatre in 1987. With its extensive dialogue and frequent scene changes, this work offers a unique charm that differentiates it from today's more commonly performed Noh plays.
This time, we will focus on Takebun's feelings for the lady-consort and perform it in a more dramatic new direction.
Special Feature Program on March 28 and 29
In conjunction with the performance, YOKOYAMA Taro, the script reviewer for the Noh (Revival) TAKEBUN, will hold a pre-talk to introduce the highlights of the work in a fun and easy-to-understand manner.
All ticket holders for the Special Feature Program on the same day are invited to participate. We look forward to your attendance!

How to participate
Registration begins at 11:00 am on the day of the event in front of the venue. Please bring your ticket for the Special Feature Program and proceed to the 2nd floor via the National Noh Theatre office entrance. Note: Stairs are the only access to the second floor.
