CHASANBAI (An International Marriage Problem)
A Chinese man married to a Japanese is crying, because he misses his wife he left back in China. The Japanese wife tries to comfort the grieving man, but things don’t go well. Enjoy the exotic content of the play, especially the unique way Kyogen imitates Chinese words.
TORIOI(The Bird-scaring Boat)
Lord Higurashi has been away in the capital for ten years to deal with a legal matter. His retainer, Sakonojyo is given charge of the lord’s wife and son, but he has made them do the menial task of chasing birds away from the rice paddies. Seeing this on his return, Higurashi is enraged. The staging of a boat installation along with kakko drum and clappers to scare the birds recreates the ambience of a pastoral autumn.
