【Bunraku USA Tour】All dates concluded in Houston!!!

The Bunraku USA Tour included nine performances in five cities and ended in Houston, Texas on October 12 (Sat.) We were able to share the charm of Bunraku with audiences in each region, featuring masterpieces such as "Date Musume Koi no Higanoko (Oshichi, the Greengrocer's Daughter)" and "Sonezaki Shinju (The Love Suicides at Sonezaki)." Our performances often received standing ovations from the audience.












During the event, there was a lecture demonstration in addition to the performances. The participants showed a high level of interest in Bunraku and Japanese traditional performing arts through their concentration as they listened to the explanations and asked enthusiastic questions.

The Bunraku Performance in December will be held at the Koto Culture Hall and the Kanagawa Momijizaka Hall. The three programs will include classic masterpieces as well as works by KINOSHITA Junji and INOUE Hisashi in modern colloquial language. This will allow you to experience the wide-ranging enjoyment of Bunraku.

Program III (starting at 6:45 pm) shall be available for the after-work audiences. It will be a performance of "Sonezaki Shinju (The Love Suicides at Sonezaki)," which was also performed to great acclaim in the U.S. We look forward to seeing you there!
