Gagaku Melodies - Kangen for Summer, Bugaku for the Sea
Gagaku is one of Japan’s representative traditional performing arts, created through the fusion of ancient Japanese songs and dances with music introduced from China and the Korean Peninsula. This performance presents two forms of Gagaku: Kangen, an instrumental ensemble, and Bugaku, in which performers dance in beautiful costumes.
In the first half, you can enjoy music in a seasonal mode that evokes the feeling of summer. In the second half, elegant dances inspired by the sea will be performed.
The performers are the Jūnionkai, a Gagaku performance group that carries on a long-standing tradition and performs throughout Japan.
Please relax and enjoy the sounds of summer Kangen and the world of Bugaku depicting scenes of the sea.
